Sensibee™ by PollinateWork

Automated pollinator monitoring for real-time environmental insight

The Sensibee platform makes evidence-based biodiversity decisions accessible.

Insects are the most diverse and abundant group of animals that ever lived. They made the world. They maintain the world…
If the creatures that made the world disappear entirely,
I’m pretty sure we will too.”

- Dr George McGavin

The pollination crisis

Pollinators are vital to life on EarthThey power our food supply, sustain our ecosystems, and maintain biodiversity. Without them, life as we know it would collapse.Yet we're flying blind:Long-term studies show that pollinating species – from bees and butterflies to hoverflies and beetles – are in decline. But current monitoring methods are:

  • Sparse and fragmented

  • Labor-intensive & requiring deep expertise

  • Unable to provide real-time insights

We struggle to answer crucial questions:

  • How should we best measure biodiversity net gain?

  • How do we best manage land for nature recovery?

  • How effective are our habitat restoration investments?

  • When do agricultural sites need pollination support?

  • How do one-off extreme weather or pollution events affect different species?

  • How can we demonstrate environmental compliance with solid evidence?

  • Which conservation interventions deliver the best outcomes?

Sensibee™: pollinator monitoring for the 21st century

Sensibee autonomously counts and identifies pollinators all year round, providing real-time insight through our intelligent web platform.

  • 1,000-fold more data: Sensibee devices continously monitor your sites 365 days/year.

  • Effortless: Cloud-based AI species identificaton incorporates decades of entomological expertise.

  • Now-casting: Real-time data delivery enables immediate insights and understanding.

Our innovative, non-lethal devices tell us how pollinating insects are doing right now and at all times, enabling informed action to protect our ecosystems, safeguard our crops and conserve biodiversity.

Reliable pollinator data leads to better biodiversity decisions. Our growing network of devices creates unprecedented insight into pollinator health and activity.Together, we can protect these essential species, secure our food supply, and enhance natural ecosystems for future generations.

Our Team

We're passionate about pollinators. Sensibee™ was born from a frustration that little is known about most pollinator populations, and that as a society we've been bad at caring for them. Our efforts are all aimed at overcoming the technological and scaling hurdles needed to help businesses, farmers, councils, chemical companies, academics, and conservation organizations make more informed decisions that lead to better outcomes. We aim to provide a step-change in understanding of pollinator health, distribution and abundance.
